The Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) is one of the most widely used questionnaires for assessing anxiety symptoms. Unlike questionnaires focused on anxious thoughts and worries, the BAI concentrates on the physical manifestations of anxiety: rapid heartbeat, trembling, dizziness, shortness of breath, and other bodily sensations typical of anxiety and panic attacks.
The test is designed for self-administration and provides an indicative assessment of the severity of anxiety symptoms over the past week. It can be taken repeatedly to track changes over time. The test result is not a medical diagnosis and does not replace a consultation with a specialist.
If in addition to anxiety you are troubled by low mood or loss of interest in activities you previously enjoyed, you may also find the depression test helpful.
